 Kulpsville, PA (July 2007)--Greene, Tweed announces the Extensis™ seal, a new product that provides the FPD (Flat Panel Display) industry with the optimal sealing solution for their ever-expanding slit valve doors and chamber lids. FPD manufacturers are experiencing competitive demands to manufacture larger and larger FPD substrates. The Extensis seal offers FPD manufacturers the opportunity to respond quickly to the demand. The new technology will officially debut at Semicon West in San Francisco, Calif., U.S., from 17-19 July.
Successfully tested and demonstrated at a leading Generation 7 FPD manufacturer, the Extensis seal introduces a new manufacturing technology that offers both design flexibility and the ability to make seals of practically limitless sizes. The Chemraz® 513 Extensis seal provides an extended service life for PECVD (plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition) process tools and reduces equipment downtime. The seal’s unique Dovetail® cross-section design optimizes seal performance by reducing roll to facilitate installation. When its rectangular form is matched to the gland design, corner stress is reduced and seal integrity is enhanced by providing uniform sealing across the entire seal surface.
